“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

– Abraham Lincoln

So I’m late to the party. I built this website at the beginning of the year with the intention of helping people decide on their own truths. I’m a young American adult. I’ve only voted three times, and until the 2020 election, I honestly didn’t care. My wife and I spent several hours carefully analyzing the policies of each candidate on our 2020 ballot. We compared and pondered and we eventually decided to vote for some third party candidates even though we were fairly certain they didn’t have any chance of winning the election. That wasn’t a hard prediction to make.

But to be completely honest, I didn’t truly expect the outcome that we witnessed on television. The capitol riot on January 6th was shocking. President Trump telling people to march down to the capitol was unacceptable. I was fuming, how could Trump be so dumb that he would push for such senseless violence?

It wasn’t till several weeks later when evidence and video and testimonies of what actually happened on January 6th at the capitol that I realized that my anger with trump was misplaced. It was painfully obvious that the riot had nothing to do with Trump, his supporters weren’t even the ones that were smashing windows and defacing public buildings. I quickly realized how out of control everything had become.

With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 around the corner, the embarrassing way our sitting president handled the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the apparent loss of freedoms as a result of the pandemic. It’s extremely difficult to sit and watch our fragmented republic crumble right before my eyes. I, like so many Americans, feel completely helpless.

My initial instinct was to build a platform where I could be totally neutral politically and religiously. But after thinking about it, I can’t share the truth and help people find the truth if I’m not being true to myself. There are truths that I hold dearly to my heart. There are truths that if I don’t acknowledge them, I might as well be denying them. And I can’t in good conscience do that.

I want to build this blog, or site, or community based on honesty. I don’t know what the future of this site is, I don’t plan on promoting it, or trying to get a following. To be honest the last thing I care about is having another full time job and making money or anything. I just want to share the truth.

So here are some things I know to be true. I believe in God. I believe that He wants everyone on earth, His children, to be happy. I believe that he inspired the founding fathers to create a more perfect union. God is responsible for the creation of the United States of America. And I know that the adversary is actively trying to destroy all the good that has been accomplished in the last 245 years.

I know that whatever happens in the next few months or years, eventually good will prevail. But what happens between now and then is up to the American people.

Let’s talk about this some more next time.
